Workshop reports available now!

Workshop graphicAll workshop reports are available online! Check the outcomes and key messages that came out of each Land Stewardship workshop, organised in April and May this year. Those key messages will directly feed into the first European Land Stewardship Congress in 2014.

Earlier this year, in April and May, three Land Stewardship workshops took place. One in Milan, Italy, one in Montpellier, France and the final one nearby Barcelona, Spain. The first two mostly focused on national issues, whereas the latter one had a broader international context. In total, more than 190 people participated in the workshops, representing nine countries and more than 65 organisations.

Land stewardship network -xct organises the first landowner gathering - 16th November 2013, Lluçà (Catalonia)

With the theme "Green economy and conservation, an option for the future," the gathering aims to present the potential and opportunities land stewardship offers to manage private lands.


LandLife present at the Wild10 Congress in Salamanca (Spain)

The 10th World Wilderness Congress held in Salamanca (Spain) from 4-10 October 2013 brought together almost 1000 people, many of them being nature conservation experts from all around the world. They came together to debate and share experiences through different sessions and workshops.

Caring together for nature - The first European Manual on Land Stewardship is now available!

flamingosWith the land stewardship manual, “Caring together for nature. Manual on land stewardship as a tool to promote social involvement with the natural environment in Europe”, we communicate land stewardship and instruments and tools to implement it, using a European-wide approach. The Manua shows the great potential of Land Stewardship as a tool for nature and biodiversity conservation in Europe.

LandLife workshop in Catalonia: A great international meeting point!

The third LandLife workshop was hosted by the Catalan land stewardship network, xct, in Tavertet (Catalonia) from 29 till 31 May. The workshop was a meeting point for people and organisations from all across Europe. Participants debated about the state of art of Land Stewardship in Europe, its future prospects and possible development strategies. It was a very lively workshop with enthusiastic participants, who were especially keen to make a success of the First European Land Stewardship Congress that will be held in Barcelona (Catalonia) in November 2014.


LandLife Workshop in Giussago: another great success!

The second of the LandLife workshops took place in Giussago (Italy) on 10 and 11 May and was hosted by Legambiente. More than 80 participants attended the workshop, with a wide variety of stakeholders like landowners, students, technicians, agronomists, biologists, environmental associations, stewards and volunteers.

The deadline for registration for the French land stewardship workshop, which will take place in Barcelona on 29-31 May, is nearing!


LandLife Workshop in Montpellier: a success!

Last week (22nd and 23rd), the first of the LandLife workshops was hosted by Conservatoire d'espaces naturels du Languedoc-Roussillon in Montpellier. The most important issue of this workshop was to 'Rethink and initiate land stewardship in France'. More than 60 people came together, a.o.: land managers, landowners, technical, financial and public partners. The majority of participants was French, but an international flavour was given to the workshop by delegates from the Netherlands, Spain and the USA.
