Educational materials for children

Today's children will play an important role in nature conservation in the future. As part of the LandLife project, lead partner Xarxa de Custòdia del Territori has therefore published a children's book to educate children about land stewardship values and the work of land stewardship organisations. The educational package also includes a flipbook and a song in order to strengthen and better disseminate the message and values of land stewardship.

The book tells a wonderful story about Peggy, a tortoise that lives near a pond somewhere in the countryside. Sadly, the pond is degrading rapidly, but circumstances improve due to a land stewardship agreement that is signed by the landowner. The story "What's going on at the pond?" explains to children how we can take care of nature by signing land stewardship agreements. The children's book is available in English and Catalan ("Què passa a la bassa?") and is co-financed by the European Commission and the Goverment of Catalonia.

You can download the book, which is written by children's author Elisenda Queralt and illustrated by Elisenda Adell, here.
