LandLife supporters: Biodiversity Foundation

The Landlife project is funded by the European Commission, but also supported by many other organisations. Here you'll find which ones. Every month one of the supporting organisations is highlighted. This time one of the main LandLife co-funders: Biodiversity Foundation

Fundación Biodiversidad

The Biodiversity Foundation is a public foundation of the Spanish Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Environment founded in 1998 that aims to preserve natural heritage and biodiversity.

The Biodiversity Foundation works to promote the conservation and sustainable use of biodiversity, contributing to the creation of jobs, wealth and well-being in the whole of society, closely with entities and institutions of the public and private sector and the citizenship. The Biodiversity Foundation created the Spanish Land Stewardship Platform that aims to become a meeting point for the land stewardship networks and organisations in order to give answer to their necessities.

The objectives of the Platform are:

  • To contribute to boost land stewardship as a management tool for the conservation of natural, cultural and landscape resources.
  • To promote the creation of meeting points for the land stewardship organisations to facilitate the exchange of knowledge and experiences.
  • To gather and update information about the land stewardship organisations and their activities. Promote the cooperation between different networks and land stewardship organisations.
  • To act as an information and dissemination platform by offering resources about land stewardship activities, publications, etc.

The Biodiversity Foundation is co-funding the LandLife project contributing to boost land stewardship at European level. The Foundation will also be present at the First European Land Stewardship Congress that will take place in Barcelona from 5th to 8th November 2014.
