LANDLIFE project awarded as BEST LIFE INFORMATION PROJECTS

Tuesday May 31th, the European Commission awarded the LANDLIFE project as BEST LIFE INFORMATION PROJECT, recognizing it as one of the 5 best Information and Communication LIFE projects in the area of Nature and Biodiversity among all the projects developed between 2011 and 2014. Congratulations LANDLIFE!

LANDLIFE will be awarded one of the BEST LIFE Nature/Information projects 2015!

The project has been selected as one of the 23 Best LIFE Nature projects out of 63, and one of the 5 Best LIFE Information projects out of 14.

Congratulations to all partners for the hard work done in spreading the concept of land stewardship among landowners, public and private organizations and the general public. And thank you to all funders that have made it posible!

We will continue working to preserve Europe's biodiversity!

The European Commission has already informed the partners from the LANDLIFE project it will be awarded one of the best LIFE Information project 2015.

An award ceremony will be held on Tuesday the 31st of May in Brussels. It will take place in the context of "Green Week" (30 May to 3 June), which is a series of conferences organised by the Commission (DG Environment), focusing this year on the theme "Investing for a greener future", it hopes to contribute to answering a broader question of how to achieve smart, sustainable and inclusive growth in Europe.

During the ceremony, the "Best of the Best" LIFE Information (Nature and Biodiversity related) project will be announced... May LANDLIFE win also the "Best of the Best"?

We will not miss such an special day!

The latest LIFE Nature publication

The latest LIFE Nature Focus publication looks at the importance of partnership work to the successful implementation of EU nature and biodiversity policy, in particular the management of the Natura 2000 network. Effective conservation today means working with a variety of different stakeholder groups. It means going beyond traditional partnerships with those who make a living from the land or sea – farmers, fishermen, foresters etc. – and working with society as a whole.

Synergies between Access to Land and land stewardship

Access to land” is a new European network emerged from an Erasmus+ project. The Access to land network brings together grassroots organisations from across Europe to share experiences and promote the significance of access to land for agroecological transition and generational renewal. Established in 2012, it functions as an informal network of about 15 organisations.

Eurosite presents the first results on the Natura 2000 Monitoring workshop held in Barcelona

Eurosite as a member of the contractor's team led by ECNC, organised a three day workshop As part of the Natura 2000 Biogeographical Process, with the support of xct and Clive Hurford.

As a result of the workshops, Stefan Versweyveld, Eurosite's President, presented on November 2015 the first results from the three-day workshop at the meeting of the EC Expert group on management of Natura 2000.

A report about LIFE and Land Stewardship has been published by NEEMO.

The LIFE external monitoring team (NEEMO) has just published a thematic report entitled "LIFE and Land Stewardship: Current status, challenges and opportunities". In this report to the European Commission, the authors assess the contribution made by the LIFE programme in engaging private stakeholders in nature conservation. The comprehensive report also explores how LIFE projects could further contribute to land stewardship agreements throughout the EU.
